FAQ

  • Does this intervention include any receiving any materials to use in the home?

Normally, no. The assessment report may suggest some specific materials that can be easily found and purchased online. Given special circumstances, a budget for materials may be discussed.

  • Can the assessment be repeated?

Yes! There is no limit to the number of assessments a family can take advantage of. It would be reasonable to have a follow up assessment after three months to ensure that adjustments are actually working and to receive additional suggestions for increased success.

The Program

A home assessment is completed as an introductory or replacement intervention for early language disorders. The home set-up is crucial to early language development and helping your child meet his or her milestones. While continued intervention is normally recommended, it is understandable that not every family is ready to begin or may be unable to qualify for services.

AM I a candidate

You may be a candidate for this therapy if your child shows delays in language or play skills that are affecting their participation in their daily interaction with family or at daycare. No diagnosis required or expected in order to complete a home assessment. Families that have tried to qualify for DDD or AZEIP services, but did not, are priority for this intervention as a determination for what the family can do at home to aid in keeping up with developmental milestones.

Coverage

This service may be covered by out-of pocket costs only.
